Best Practices
Tips and recommendations for getting the most out of C3.
Workflow Tips
- Start with Plan mode: Review the agent's approach before execution
- Use checkpoints: If the changes made by the agent are not working, you can revert to a previous checkpoint
- Keep sessions focused: One task per session when possible
- Monitor context: Watch the context indicator to avoid truncation
Effective Prompting
- Be specific: "Add a login button to the header" vs "add login"
- Provide context: Mention relevant files or components
- Ask for explanations: "Explain your approach before making changes"
- Iterate: Build on the agent's responses rather than starting over
Security
- Use authentication: Always set username/password for remote access
- Review tools: Check what the agent is doing before approving
- Limit permissions: Use the minimum permission mode needed
- Rotate credentials: Change passwords periodically
Remote Access
Be extra cautious when using C3 over the internet. Ensure authentication is enabled and use strong passwords.
Performance
- Close unused sessions: Free up resources for active work
- Start fresh: New sessions for unrelated tasks
- Use stable networks: WiFi is better than cellular for large files
